BIOGRAPHY
A KIND OF...

Born in Milan, Italy in 1978 I've dedicated my whole life to music production. I've started to produce computer music in my teenage years, back in the early 90's, with the software Protracker and OctaMED Sound Studio on a Commodore Amiga 600 computer.

Heavily influenced by Queen, Vangelis, Beethoven and writers like H.P. Lovecraft and Tiziano Sclavi my love for music, literature and art has developed further over the years. I'm a self-taught piano and keyboard player; I also play guitar, flute, and percussion instruments when needed. At some point in my life I began to study classical music (Beethoven, Bach, Chopin) and symphonic composition.

From 2000 to 2001 I've been the keyboard player of the power/symphonic metal band Alchemy (with Scotti, Vertemati, Piras, "Lele"/Aprile). While at that time I had already produced "Mediterraneo", being part of this band truly enriched my musical experience and has been a huge source of inspiration and motivation. Around the same period I've been part of the rock band Kromatika for a short time.

Starting from 2000 I've recorded several albums, produced my own music software as MaxSynths, worked as a sound designer, collaborated as a composer and arranger for other artists. My music has been licensed to several TV/Movie production companies all over the world, and included on several compilations.

Between 2016 and 2017 I've started a new project dedicated to the composition of music for "occult/dark" meditation, using the moniker Cerimonia.

As a musician and sound designer the sounds and songs that I've created have been used in the making of movie soundtracks (Disney's Tron Legacy and several soundtracks by Hans Zimmer), documentaries (Avversati dalla Sorte, L'Insonne - Overtoure DVD 2023), video games (Doom Eternal) and many chart-hits by world top artists and producers like: Depeche Mode, Run DMC, Alphaville, Daft Punk, Greg Kurstin, Armin van Buuren, Ernest Wilson (G-Unit, Bow Wow, Kanye West), Tyga, Eminem, Kodak Black, Chris Thomas (Sex Pistols, INXS), Bon Jovi, Hans Zimmer, Tim Kelley, Skrillex, Axwell, Aphex Twin and many others.

From time to time I like to write short stories (either weird, non-sense, or both) and poetry, I also enjoy drawing and taking pictures - mainly with my cell phone - while strolling around this mad weird world.

TRIVIA
SOME USELESS PIECES OF KNOWLEDGE

  • The song "Windchimes in the Window" is cited in the book "New Plays from New York" (p. 300) by Jeanne Chenault Porter, and has been used during the theatrical performances of the work in Manhattan, New York and other places around the world ["Act 1 - Scene 4: A week later in Bea's office. New age music is playing softly (Massimo Bosco's Wind Chimes in the Window (...)"].

  • The voice in "Luttuosa Bamby" (Mercury, 2015) is that of the Italian writer Isabella Santacroce, which also wrote the words.

  • The Song "Unidentified Flying Crocodiles" (Stage, 2015), originally composed as a joke (the title says it all), unexpectedly became a hit on online radios for several years between 2015 and 2021.

  • "Breakfast at Mac's" (Spacebar, 2015) contains reversed vocal samples taken from a voice message received from the musician Mac of BIOnight, in which he told me he was eating a banana for breakfast (or something like that). Shortly after Mac dedicated the gorgeous song "Breakfast at Max's" to me.

  • My first album cover (still unnamed at the time) should have been a drawing by the famous painter Boris Vallejo, with whom we had discussed the project.

  • The songs "Ange Diabolisque" and "Recerche Folle" (Stage, 2015) are inspired and titled after some paintings by Miraba, which created the "Set paintings to music" project. After my participation to the project Miraba dedicated a painting to me titled ReInKarnaCircle.

  • In many songs the vocal parts were sung or recited by Alice Bosco, my sister.

  • "Blu" (Mediterraneo, 2000) was used at Miss Venezuela awards ceremony (not sure about the year, maybe 2015?).

  • I once met Olaf Thorsen from the metal band Labyrinth while we both were taking a piss at Jungle Sound Station recording studio in Milan.

  • The orchestral piece of music Anastasia (Soundtracks, 2015) was originally composed for a contest. The three top winners had to fly to London in order to work with a real orchestra and have their compositions played live. I was so excited by the contest that I started composing and recording my piece of music instantly, failing to fully read the rules. Only when I finished to compose the song I did realize that the contest was about composing a piece of music for brass and winds instruments only.

  • My first book, Frammenti was written as a pastime while sitting on the toilet.

  • The Song "Keyboard Lesson N. 1" (S, 2015) was recorded while my two years old nephew was randomly and literally "playing" with the keys, with me later joining his "improvisation".

  • The song Anastasia should have been the first of a four piece suite. A few seconds long draft recording of the second movement do exists, but I decided to abandon the project out of lack of interest for it.

  • I once met with the sound engineer, researcher and pioneer music-therapist Filippo Massara. After spending some time listening to my and his music he told me that "human beings do exist to create".
